Facilities in the Town
There are numerous places to eat out here – English, Italian, Indian and Mexican cuisine is all on offer. Lamb and yoghurt dishes are a speciality here.
After dark there are a few lively bars to keep you entertained if you have some energy left after all that sun-bathing, such as the Buzz Bar at the back of the beach, but if you are after hardcore clubbing the nearby town of Hisaronu is your best bet and is just a short ride away in a dolmus (minibus).
The Surroundings
The most famous sight in Olu Deniz has to be the blue lagoon that you will see on so many postcards, and it really is stunning. The water is crystal-clear, and even when the sea is a little rough, the lagoon's waters remain calm and safe to swim in for kids of all ages. At the back of the town towers the peak of Mount Babadag, with pines covering its lower slopes. From the top, you can take a paragliding lesson – you can double up with one of the professionals and float high above the lagoon, landing on the beach.
Talking of the beach, you can go on as many Turkey holiday packages as you like but you will be hard pressed to find coastline that is more beautiful. There is plenty of beach to go round too, so even when it gets busy you will be able to find a quiet little spot to relax with your holiday romance. Out on the water itself, you can go diving or just partake in a little gentle snorkelling, and if you want to venture out on the sea you can embark on one of the boat trips that voyage around some of the pretty little islands that this part of the coast is famous for.
